Seeing Medicaid patients at Rula is not much different from seeing any other client at Rula!
- You will have the same reimbursement rates as commercial clients and be reimbursed for last-minute cancellations and no-shows.
- There are also no additional documentation requirements for Medicaid patients.
- Being enrolled to see Medicaid patients allows you to expand your reach to see and help a larger group of clients.

What is the pay/reimbursement rate for Managed Medicaid patients?
Your rate will be the same as it is for commercial patients patients
What happens if a patient cancels/no-shows?
There will be no changes to the current process. Providers will continue to receive compensation for cancellations initiated by either the patient or Rula.
Will my patients be charged a no-show fee?/ My patient was told they would be charged a fee.
Your patient will not be charged a no-show fee. Our priority is to ensure these patients get access to timely care, so some parts of their experience here may still include this messaging. Rest assured, they will not be charged and can ignore it.
Will anything else change about my Rula experience?
Nothing else will change about your Rula experience and how you conduct your day-to-day tasks.
What if I no longer want to see Medicare/Medicaid clients with Rula?

I’m already enrolled in my state’s Medicaid program, can I link it with Rula?
In some of the states where we are live, you can link existing enrollments! Please consult the individual state requirements to see if this is an option. Please note, if your state allows linking existing enrollments, your original enrollment type may determine whether we can link it.
I have an existing Medicaid client. Can I bring them over to Rula?
You may be able to. We are currently only live for Managed Medicaid plans through certain payors. If your client is covered by a Managed Medicaid plan in network with Rula, you can bring your clients over using the existing process.
Is there an application fee to apply to my state’s Medicaid program?
There is no application fee for individual providers in the states where Rula is currently live.
How long does each of the steps to become eligible take?
- Rula’s FWA course: ~1 hour
- Medicaid Application: Varies by state; generally between 30 min - 2 hours
- Getting Approved by State’s Medicaid Program: Varies by state
