Resetting access to the Rula provider portal

Having trouble logging into the Path provider portal? If you've lost access to your authenticator app or device, follow the steps below.

Path uses two-factor authentication (2FA) to add an extra layer of security beyond just a password. This means that to log in, you need both your password and a generated code from the authenticator app on your mobile device.

This article explains what to do if you get locked out of the Path provider portal due to two-factor authentication (2FA) issues. Follow the steps below to reset your portal access.

There are two reset options:

  • Reset with your secret key (skips 2FA)
  • Reset with Path Support identity verification
  • Note: If you did not save your secret key, or need additional support resetting your account, a support agent will work with you to first verify your identity and then give you access to the account.

How to Reset Access with Secret Key

After setting up two-factor authentication during your initial Path provider portal account setup, you were given a secret key.

If you have your secret key, follow these steps:

  1. Download an authenticator app like Microsoft Authenticator on your mobile device or desktop.
    • Note: The following steps will review how to reset your account using the Microsoft Authenticator on a mobile device. Steps for other apps may vary but are very similar. 
  2. Click "Add Account" then "Other Account"

  3. Allow camera access when prompted
  4. Click "Enter code manually"

  5. Under Account Name, type "Path Portal"
  6. Under Secret Key, enter your secret key
    • Note: To protect client data, Path does not have access to and will never ask for your secret key
  7. Click "Finish"
  8. Use the 6-digit code to sign into the Path portal

How to Reset Access with Path Support

If you do not have your secret key or are unable to reset your account using your secret key, Path support will verify your identity and reset portal access

To verify identity, provide Path Support:

  • A photo of you holding your driver's license/ID
  • Join a Zoom call and show ID on camera
    Also provide:
  • Your NPI

Once verified, Path support will provide next steps for portal access reset. You'll then receive a new Welcome to Path email to set up your account again.
