Having trouble logging into the Rula provider portal? If you've lost access to your authenticator app or device, follow the steps below.
Rula uses two-factor authentication (2FA) to add an extra layer of security beyond just a password. This means that to log in, you need both your password and a generated code from the authenticator app on your mobile device.
This article explains what to do if you get locked out of the Rula provider portal due to two-factor authentication (2FA) issues. Follow the steps below to reset your portal access.
There are two reset options:
- Reset with your secret key (skips 2FA)
- Reset with Rula Support identity verification
- Note: If you did not save your secret key, or need additional support resetting your account, a support agent will work with you to first verify your identity and then give you access to the account.
How to Reset Access with Rula Support
If you are having difficulty resetting or accessing your Rula provider portal, please contact Rula support at support@rula.com. Rula support will verify your identity and reset portal access
To verify identity, provide Rula Support:
- Full name
- Email address
Once verified, Rula support will provide next steps for portal access reset. You'll then receive a new Welcome to Rula email to set up your account again.
How to Reset Access with Secret Key
After setting up two-factor authentication during your initial Rula provider portal account setup, you were given a secret key.
If you have your secret key, follow these steps:
- Download an authenticator app like Microsoft Authenticator on your mobile device or desktop.
- Note: The following steps will review how to reset your account using the Microsoft Authenticator on a mobile device. Steps for other apps may vary but are very similar.
- Click "Add Account" then "Other Account"
- Allow camera access when prompted
- Click "Enter code manually"
- Under Account Name, type "Rula Portal"
- Under Secret Key, enter your secret key
- Note: To protect client data, Rula does not have access to and will never ask for your secret key
- Click "Finish"
- Use the 6-digit code to sign into the Rula portal
