The Notes and Documents section of the client chart shows a list of all notes and documents for the client from all providers on their care team.
Notes will appear as cards on the left side under Most recent and documents will appear on the right side under Documents.
Viewing notes and documents
The Note cards on the left include the following information:
- Note type
- Therapy type
- Provider name
- Link to view note
Clicking View note will open a non-editable PDF version of the note in a new tab.
Important: Therapists are not able to download or print the PDF version of the note. To request a copy of a note, therapists should use the "Release of information request form" in the Documents tab of the provider portal. The release of information process is outlined here.
You can also view any uploaded documents by clicking on the document title in the Documents section on the right side of the page. This will open a non-editable PDF version of the document in a new tab.

Uploading documents
To upload a document:
- Click Add note in the Notes & Documents section of the client chart.
- Drag and drop the file or click to open the file browser to add the document.
- Click Save
- The document will appear in the Documents section of the page.
Documents transferred from AMD
AdvancedMD (AMD) was the previous Electronic Health Records (EHR) system used at Rula prior to the provider portal. If documents were not transferred properly from AMD to the provider portal, please Connect with Support for assistance.
