Ratings and reviews on your provider profile

Clients can share feedback about their experience with their Rula provider by leaving a rating and review. Finding the right provider is deeply personal and, for many clients, hearing from real clients you’ve worked with can make reaching out feel a little easier.

Ratings and reviews help prospective clients better understand your approach and what it feels like to work with you—beyond credentials and specialties alone. This can help prospective clients feel more confident choosing care with you, and build trust before their first appointment.

To help providers put their best foot forward, only positive written reviews will appear publicly on profiles, with a moderation process in place to support a thoughtful and trusted experience.

See FAQs below for more info about ratings and reviews, patient and provider protection, and other common questions.

How it works

Clients are invited to leave a 1–5 star rating after completing their fifth visit with you. If they select a positive rating (3-5 stars), they’ll have the option to write a review.

Your average rating and published positive reviews appear on your Rula profile and in the browsing experience to help future patients better understand what it may be like to work with you.

Key details

  • Clients receive a rating and review email directly from Rula after their fifth session to share their feedback.
    • Patients may receive up to 3 reminder emails if they haven’t responded.
  • Reviews are anonymous, optional, and require client consent.
  • Only reviews submitted alongside positive ratings (3+ stars) will appear publicly on your profile after moderation, while all star ratings impact your average rating shown on your profile.
    • Feedback associated with 1–2 star ratings is never published.
  • Providers cannot opt out of ratings and reviews, but please note this is voluntary for clients.

What this means for you

You can find any published reviews in your Rula portal under the Profile tab by selecting the Reviews tab.

Client invitations are handled automatically and providers cannot solicit reviews themselves. If a client asks about sharing feedback with Rula, you can let them know they’ll have the opportunity after they’ve established care with you.

See FAQs to learn more.

Review moderation and safeguards

Only reviews submitted alongside positive ratings are eligible for publication on your profile. Prior to publishing, they are reviewed for content that violates our review policy.

We do not publish content that includes identifying information, threats, PHI, discrimination, defamation, or crisis-related material. Concerning content is escalated internally when appropriate.

If you believe a review violates policy, you can flag it directly in your provider portal for further review.

How to flag a review

  1. In your provider profile, click the Profile tab from the left menu.
  2. Select the Reviews tab at the top.
  3. Next to the review you need to report, click the Report flag.

  4. You'll be prompted to select a reason for the report and to provide additional details to help our team investigate the report.
  5. Click Report review to submit your report.
    • The review will now show as Reported. We'll be in touch with a decision shortly.

FAQs

What safeguards are in place to protect patients and providers?

We've built safeguards into ratings and reviews to protect patient privacy, provider trust, and the therapeutic relationship:

  • Patient privacy: Reviews are anonymous, published after a short delay, and screened for identifying information. Patients must explicitly consent before publication.
  • Review safeguards: Only verified patients with 5+ visits can submit reviews. All reviews are screened for harmful content, privacy violations, and safety concerns, with potential crises escalated to our Patient Safety team.
  • Provider protections: Reviews containing abusive content, unsubstantiated accusations, or feedback unrelated to care are not published. Providers can flag published reviews for additional review.

How does Rula engage with patients?

After a patient’s fifth visit with a provider, Rula invites them via email to submit a 1–5 star rating and an optional written review. Here are some key details:

  • Participation is voluntary, and patients may receive up to 3 reminder emails after subsequent visits if they haven’t responded.
  • Providers cannot solicit reviews themselves.
  • Written reviews are always anonymous and published only with the patient’s explicit consent, which is recorded for each review.
  • Feedback associated with 1–2 star ratings is never published.

Can I opt-out of receiving ratings and reviews?

Not at this time. Please note that only reviews submitted alongside positive ratings (3+ stars) will be listed on your provider profile.

Can I respond to a review?

Not at this time.

Can I see who left a rating or review?

No. Ratings and reviews are fully anonymous and do not include any identifying information.

Can I use these reviews in other places/on my website?

Reviews collected from Rula clients are consented for use on Rula profiles only.

Can I use other reviews I’ve received from prior clients?

No. At this time, only reviews collected through the Rula experience can be displayed on your Rula profile.

Will my rating affect my referrals or my standing with Rula?

No. Ratings do not determine your standing with Rula or your eligibility for referrals. Ratings and reviews help prospective clients better understand what it's like to work with you and make informed decisions about starting care.
