This article will provide an overview of what to expect in your first client session with Rula. We will cover the initial appointment step by step, from scheduling to documentation.
Step 1: Client Schedules Session
You will receive an email notification letting you know that a new client has scheduled an appointment with you.
Step 2: Start Telehealth Session

Log in to the Rula Provider Portal to start your session
- Locate the session on your calendar:
- When it is time for your first client session at Rula, you can access Telehealth sessions from inside the chosen appointment on your calendar in the provider portal.

Start the Telehealth appointment by clicking on Start video appointment.
This will launch your Zoom call
Note: You’re able to join the appointment up to 30 minutes before its starting time. Documentation will be able to be completed up to 30 minutes before the start time as well.
Step 3: Complete Initial Assessment
Every client receiving treatment at Rula must have an initial assessment completed during their first visit in order to identify treatment needs, establish a diagnosis, and determine a therapeutic fit.

Step 4: Document Your First Session
Directly after the first client session at Rula, you must complete documentation, like session notes, to be properly compensated for your time.

Session notes can be completed from the Client Chart.

Click Start Progress Note to start your session note.
