This article provides instructions on how to make changes to your W9 form in Wingspan.
Step 1: Access Wingspan
Please access your account on Wingspan to make changes to your W9 form.
After logging in, navigate to the Account Settings under the settings drop-down menu on the left-hand side of the page.
Step 2: Change Your Personal and/or Business Info
You can change your business's name under either Personal Information or Business Information, depending on your account type. This section includes your Taxpayer Information as well as your associated personal or business details.
Step 2a: Change Your Personal Information
If you need to update personal information— such as your preferred name, business website, personal address, or date of birth—you can select Edit next to the relevant option. You'll then be guided through Wingspan's verification process to complete any updates.
Step 2b: Change Your Business Information
To update your business information— such as your "Doing Business As" (DBA) name, business phone number, address, support email, website, and more—, simply select Edit next to the relevant option. You'll be guided through Wingspan's verification process to complete the update.
Representative information
The "Representative Information" section will only appear below "Business information" if you are currently registered as a business entity, not as an individual.
Step 3: Changing Your Taxpayer Information
You can change your taxpayer information by taking the following steps:
- Select Request update on the right of the Taxpayer information.
- Follow the prompts and select the options that pertain to your situation.
- At the bottom of the page, use the provided text box to include all necessary details about the update you need. Be as specific as possible. Include the specifics of the necessary updates, what you are looking to achieve, and any other relevant information about the changes you are requesting.

- For example, you'd provide the new LLC's name (including the state) if you were changing to an LLC or changing the name of the LLC, or you would provide the new EIN number that you need on file.

- Finally, you'll review everything and submit.
Please note: If the effective date occurs mid-year and the TIN changes, the system may generate multiple 1099-NEC forms (one for each applicable period).
Additional Instructions on Updating Banking Details
If you need to update your banking details or change your personal bank to a business bank, please access Payout and payment methods under Account Settings.
