[Beta] Updating a treatment plan in the Rula provider portal

We’re currently testing our new clinical documentation feature with a small group of therapists in the Rula provider portal. We can't wait to roll it out to everyone soon! If you’re not part of the beta group right now, don’t worry – we’ll keep you posted and let you know as soon as it’s available for you. Thanks for your understanding and patience as we work to bring this exciting update to you!

Treatment plans can be updated from within a session note in the Rula provider portal. This information must be updated before the note is signed, as notes cannot be edited once they have been submitted.

Treatment plan imports from AMD

While we transition to completing clinical documentation in the Rula provider portal, treatment plans will be imported from the client charts in AMD.

A notification will appear the first time you create a session note for a client in the portal asking you to review the treatment plan that was imported and save it.

  • You will not be able to sign the note until you have saved the treatment plan. This will only prevent you from signing the note the first time.

You only have to do this once per client, and once this is done, the treatment plan will carry over to every future note in the portal.

Guided Steps

To update a treatment plan:

  1. Log into the provider portal
  2. Click on the Clients tab, located on the menu on the left side of the page
  3. Select the client you need to update the treatment plan for
  4. Depending on if you are starting a new note or are returning to save note, find the appointment card for the desired date, and click Start progress note or Complete progress note.
    • This wording will reflect the template or appointment type (SOAP note or Initial Assessment).
  5. On the right side of the page, click Update treatment plan

  6. Make the desired changes
  7. Click Save & close

You can update the treatment plan as needed in the session note. If no changes are needed, the treatment plan will pull forward to any new session notes as-is.
