We want to take a moment to introduce you to Rula’s Clinical Quality leadership.  As we continue on our mission to provide mental healthcare that works for everyone, we understand that it’s vital we provide best-in-class clinical care to all clients, as well as meet the needs of our trusted therapist network. 

Who are we?

Dr. Kevin Ramotar, Psy.D - Head of Clinical Care and Quality 

Dr. Ramotar is a licensed clinical psychologist with over 15 years of patient care experience and is your Head of Clinical Care & Quality at Rula. In his role, Kevin oversees our clinical care delivery systems at Rula, as well as clinical quality, patient safety, and care coordination. 

Kevin has worked in various settings throughout his career, with the majority of his experience in academic health systems in Quality, Compliance, and Patient Safety leadership roles.  He has been a clinical leader and advisor for several digital health organizations.  He holds a doctorate, and two master’s degrees in Clinical Psychology, with concentrations in healthcare leadership, multicultural and community psychology, and clinical quality.  He is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, which underlies his focus on continuous process improvement with an aspiration to build “perfect” systems of care that enable providers to be fully equipped to achieve clinical excellence in service to our patients.  Dr. Ramotar continues to practice, and has specialization in neurodiversity, psychological assessment, and emerging adulthood.

Jessie Nelson, LPC, CPHQ, LSSS - Clinical Quality Lead

Jessie is the Clinical Quality Lead at Rula and focuses on ensuring that high-quality services are delivered to clients while our network of providers feel supported. In her role at Rula, Jessie is responsible for oversight of the quality program and driving initiatives designed to improve the quality of care patients receive. Prior to joining Rula, Jessie spent five years in a Quality and Compliance leadership role in community mental health and was a frequent contributor to Crisis Intervention Training with local law enforcement agencies. After receiving her Master’s Degree in Forensic Psychology from the University of Denver, Jessie worked as a clinical case manager and therapist for individuals involved in the criminal justice system and worked closely with law enforcement on trauma-informed and de-escalation training. Jessie spent 10 years in Colorado where her career largely focused on quality improvement and compliance for behavioral health organizations and non-profit community mental health centers.
