Rula's therapist referral program

This article walks through the therapist referral program details, including the $500 referral bonus, eligibility criteria, terms and conditions, and instructions for how to make a referral with our referral form.

What is Rula’s therapist referral program?

Rula’s therapist provider referral program gives current Rula therapy providers the opportunity to earn a reward when they invite their colleagues to join Rula.

If eligible, once the referred provider joins our network and completes their first client visit, we’ll send both the referring and referred providers $500!

How do I make the referral?

To make a referral, you must create your unique referral URL on this page. Once you have your link, you can invite eligible therapy colleagues by sharing it via email, social media, or text message.

Using your unique referral URL, the referred provider will need to complete the referral form on the page. To ensure your referral is tracked, your referral must sign up using your unique link before they sign their contract with Rula. We will be unable to honor verbal or late referral submissions.

After your referral sees their first client within 90 days of signing a contract with Rula, both you and your referral will receive the $500 bonus. The bonus will be disbursed via direct deposit within 1-2 pay cycles after the first client visit is completed and approved.

Who can I refer?

You're welcome to refer any licensed therapy provider who has not yet joined Rula (i.e. has never signed a contract with us before.)

This includes Licensed Marriage & Family Therapists (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors (LPCC), and Licensed Psychologists.

As of December 22, 2025, we’re pausing new provider onboarding in some select states to ensure that current Rula providers in those markets receive consistent referrals. Please read ‘What's the timeline for this promotion?’ below for more information.

Are you taking referrals for psychiatric providers?

Yes, however, this is a different offer and process. At this time, we are only able to accept provider referrals within the same program. This means:

  • Therapy providers can refer other therapy providers
  • Psychiatric providers can refer other psychiatric providers

You’re welcome to invite psychiatry providers to Rula, but this will not be eligible for the referral bonus. To learn more about our psychiatry provider referral program, please visit this form. As of December 22, 2025, the new provider pause in select states will also apply for psychiatric provider referrals.

When and how will I receive the referral bonus?

After your referred provider completes their first client visit within 90 days of signing a contract with Rula, we will review the referral. If approved, we’ll send both the referring and referred providers $500 via direct deposit in 1-2 pay cycles—view Rula’s pay calendar.

How many referrals can I make?

You can refer as many providers as you’d like to—as long as they are providers you actually know. Providers cannot refer themselves, and Rula reserves the right to disqualify any referral if we believe it has been made in bad faith.

Can I combine this offer with other promotions offered by Rula?

Yes! You can still participate in any other relevant incentive promotions applicable to you. The therapist referral program is separate and will not conflict with any other incentive’s eligibility.

What happens if multiple therapists refer the same person?

If multiple providers refer the same person, we will honor the first valid referral we received.

  • Each referral nomination is valid for 6 months from the date it is submitted.
  • If the first referral doesn’t qualify within 6 months, the next eligible referral will be considered for the bonus.

What's the timeline for this promotion?

There is no end date for this promotion. Rula reserves the right to modify any part or end the promotion at any time.

As of December 22, 2025, we’re pausing new provider onboarding in some select states to ensure that current Rula providers in those markets receive consistent referrals. If your referral practices in one of the paused states, we will wait to contact them until we’re ready to start accepting additional providers in their market. Any referrals submitted during this time will remain eligible for the referral bonus and will be disbursed if/when the referred provider joins Rula and completes their first client visit. All provider referrals submitted on or before December 22, 2025 will not be affected by this change.

Who can’t I refer to Rula?

Referrals made for therapists who at any point already signed a contract with Rula are not eligible for the referral bonus. Check out the Terms & Conditions for a complete overview of Rula’s therapist referral program requirements.
